10 invents new Olympic games

For 26 years now, the Belgian Olympic Committee organises a fundraising campaign for sports in schools. But after such a long time, the campaign needed a serious facelift. So we created a new Olympic game: the School Olympics: a little effort for a lot more sport.

In these Olympics, the schoolteachers were treated as if they were coaches. To invite them to be part of the School Olympics, we sent them a coach cap and a coach clipboard. The kids became athletes. We gave them all a squad number, and a challenge: gather sponsors for the School Olympics.

To find sponsors they had to go from door to door and sell the Olympic gadget. The more gadgets they sell, the more sponsors they gather. On the School Olympics website, our athletes found some tips and tricks to impress their audience…

To launch this new Olympic game we organised a press conference. Or actually, we organised a training camp for our athletes. They had to train on ringing high bells and avoiding funny obstacles. And the coaches were former Olympic athletes Sabine Appelmans and Jean Michel Saive.

Once the teams were ready for some sports, we communicated the action to the rest of the world with a sporty visual and radio campaign.
