10 makes ridiculous campaign
End of
August, the headscarf ban in a few Antwerp schools was definitely talk of the
town. And there was even more rumour about the campaign we created to fight
this ban… BOEH! is a women’s organisation fighting this ban from the very
beginning. When they asked us to help them out, we were ready. We felt the need
of a positive answer in this grim debate. So we created a campaign that
encourages everyone to put on their head what they wanted. A giant hotdog or a
boat, for example, as a ridiculous answer to a ridiculous rule.
The campaign was picked up by numerous websites, magazines and newspapers. The call for action gathered hundreds of fans on Facebook. And on September 1st, dozens of supporters showed up in the streets wearing the craziest things on their head. This stunt was covered in all media and the ladies from BOEH! were invited to talk shows.
The discussion about the headscarf is still not over, but with our campaign we managed to unite people from different ages, backgrounds and cultures. And above all, we gave a positive answer in this grim debate. Watch the full story!
